Smart Phones Are Here To Stay

ipad-iphone.jpg

I don't know if you've noticed yet, but mobile phones are transforming the world. At first it was little by little with the ability to e-mail, browse the internet and talk on the phone at the same time, and download entertaining apps, but recently mobile phones and tablets of all sorts have begun to integrate into every aspect of our lives, from entertainment to healthcare.

Mobile has become global if you haven't yet noticed. Thanks to social networking and factors like the accessibility of smart phones people are connecting ALL THE TIME. Brands have begun creating apps they know consumers will love, price them affordably, reward customers for various (real-time) behaviors and have begun engaging WITH them thanks so various social media sites. If you haven't yet embraced different mobile marketing tactics, you will soon be left in the dust by your key customers.

The market is also going to move towards mCommerce, mobile gaming/entertainment and the purchasing of virtual goods, so if you haven't started thinking about what you're going to do to stay on top, you'd better add mobile into your business strategy.

The most exciting key mobile trend for me has to be tracking where mobile health is going. Mobile health makes it easier for monitoring, diagnosis, wellness and with the adoption of tablets,  electronic health records and medical information will only get easier to track. Mobile health is going to be the biggest global  trend there is, especially thanks to easy solutions such as sending text messages to new mothers, drug addicts or patients with certain diseases.

Moral of the story? Jump on the mobile band wagon before it takes off without you...

Trending Now: Mobile Health

Think of any health topic you have ever had a question about... Diabetes? Dieting? Sleep apnea? We've all heard "there's an app for that" one too many times, but thanks to mobile health, there are tons of developers out there creating websites iPhone apps, Droid apps, smartphone compatible websites based on each health or medical question you may have.

Over the past few months I have had the pleasure of working with a mobile health company who is focusing on creating useful and helpful mobile apps for their customers and clients. I knew little about the mhealth world before I began working with them, and quickly found that mhealth can be a very general term for a wide variety of services and information. The mhealth community consists of all sorts of characters, such as doctors, health care practitioners, and those working directly in the medical community as well as advertising agencies, interactive agencies and marketers trying to find their place in the mobile health world.

Over the past few months I have read numerous articles about the possibilities, barriers, risks, and goals of all mobile health voices and can tell that this is the newest hot trend and industry to look out for. There are SO MANY ways that mobile health can go, and so many ways it can be developed. The ideas are endless and it has the possibility to lower health care costs, increase patient/doctor trust and interactivity, and spread information about prevention throughout the US, as well as the world.

Mobile health is definitely a topic to keep up on because the industry is literally changing every few weeks. There is always someone pushing the limits, going further than the last innovative idea.

Here are some fantastic resources to catch up on Mobile Health:

Fear melts when you take action towards a goal you really want. Robert G Allen

I'm currently working on figuring out what I want to do with my life. I'm currently searching for a new full time job, and since I have limited experience (mostly with social media work) the jobs are harder to come by.

I know that finding another social media position that's full-time would be a great option, because social media is super hot right now, and every business wants to (needs to really) get into it. The must successful companies dove right into it, tried out different strategies and use social media to it's fullest advantage.

Another hot trend/topic right now is mobile health. The mobile health business will be worth over $1 billion in 2014... Meaning that it's definitely not going away and it's here to stay. More doctors, health practitioners and patients are embracing mobile and wireless health, in the US, Europe and even places such as Africa. Health is on the tips of our fingers thanks to smartphones, iPhone applications, EMRS, and the newest inventions like the iPad. I definitely want to keep my eye on this sector, and try to jump in if anything ever opens up.

I have a vast network available thanks to family, friends, and acquaintance I've met over the years, but there are big decisions I need to make on which way I would like to go. I've read articles discussing the fact that the younger generations don't just stick with one career for the rest of their life, so I know that whatever job I choose is just opening many other doors later on in life. Right now the biggest decision is between working for advertising agencies in Chicago/NY/San Francisco, or chasing a dream and finding work in Spain.

Never mistake knowledge for wisdom. One helps you make a living; the other helps you make a life -Sandara Carey

I'm currently trying to figure out what I should start a blog about. I'm trying to dive into as many different types of Social Media as I can and see what works best for me.

I'd love to talk about social media strategic tactics, the new job search I'm starting, some twitter tips, advertising, mobile health, and then some fun things on the side of course too!

Can't wait to try this out, and I hope some people find it super insightful!

Check out my Twitter if you want to see more of my thoughts, articles I post through that and ideas that are always being thrown out into the world.
